GOT BOOBIES?

Hello readers!

I'm sure most of you aren't expecting this post (cos I blog randomly at anytime of the year lol). Today I'm gonna blog about breast cancer in conjunction with October (Breast Cancer Month). You could read more on the history of the Pink Ribbon symbol here.

I have an aunt with breast cancer and I'm so glad that she is one of the many overcomers (a class above survivors) that have succeed in the battle. My mom has a history of having a lump in one of her breasts and that makes me prone to the disease. As my blog is already colour-coated in fave colour pink, what more appropriate way to enforce the awareness of breast cancer.

The World Health Organization stated that breast cancer is the second most common type of cancer after lung cancer, and that it is the fifth most common cause in cancer death. As October arrives (it's actually almost towards the end as I'm typing), women all over the world are reminded to have their pap smears and book appointments with their gynaes. It's important to know that checking your breasts monthly (or boobies, as most of you like to call it) can help in early detection.

I found a really pink (my fave!) website dedicated to breast cancer - PINK for October. I  find it really useful when it comes to customizing my Firefox, Twitter, blog and all (they have stuffs for dload!). I've been using PinkHope for quite awhile now; it's a Firefox theme for breast cancer and it's really appropriate for girls who like their stuff in pink ;)

You could also leave your link there to spread the word, donate, or learn more about the project and breast cancer research.

This November 14, Alice Wonders and Enspired Events will be throwing a closing ceremony for the Got Boobies campaign. Details of the treasure to be reveled soon! Aside from that, Alice Wonders is giving out their limited edition bags as part of their blog contest for the month of Oct/Nov.

Don't you just love the pink quilted bag? 10% of the Pink Ribbon product sales will be channeled to NCSM!

Last but not least, this is my pic for the second issue of Modelle magazine.

Fight Breast Cancer - Check them monthly!

Love always, Grace
